10月1日は日本酒の日です、2025秋

日本酒の日と制定されたのには2つの理由があります。 ひとつは、10月は新米の収穫が始まり、全国各地の蔵が日本酒造りを始める時期だから。

もうひとつは、各月を十二支で表すと10月は「酉」であり、「酉」という漢字は、もともと酒壺や酒そのものを意味するからです。(日本酒造組合中央会HP)

There are two reasons why this day was chosen:

First, October marks the start of the rice harvest, when breweries across Japan begin making sake.

Second, in the traditional zodiac calendar, October is represented by the sign “酉 (tori),” which originally symbolized a jar of sake or sake itself! (Source: Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association)

To celebrate Sake Day, we’re also running a special campaign.
